Biomass or wood pellets are touted as a climate-friendly alternative to coal, but this is not the case. Worse still, we think of biomass as a sustainable alternative with the industry claiming it only uses waste wood to create wood pellets. New investigations show (and this video explains) that primary and old-growth forests are being cut down specifically to be made into biomass.
It’s worth considering the points addressed in this video, as we work to advocate for primary forest protection.
