Eveline was a semi-retired soil scientist, environmental consultant and Professional Agrologist. She and her husband split their time between Vancouver and a rural property on the Shuswap River in the ancestral territories of the Syilx and Secwépemc peoples, east of Lumby.
In 2018, her rural community experienced four devastating and costly landslide events following clearcut and salvage logging in the headwaters of MacPherson, Woodward and Noni Creeks. She is no longer semi-retired. She has become a full-time forest activist.
Eveline formed Silver Hills Watershed Watch to raise awareness of the impact of industrial logging in her rural community; became a member of Help Our Watersheds Society to force Greater Vernon Water to pay attention to industrial logging in their Duteau Creek watershed; and helped found IWTF in 2023.
Her activism continues, focused on watershed protection, the preservation of intact and old-growth forests, habitat conservation and forestry reforms.
